And Elias himself has a reputation for being unnervingly calm when violence occurs. Then you become involved with him. After an incident leaves you stranded outside town late at night, Elias finds you on horseback. Instead of taking you to the nearest settlement, he brings you to the Vane estate. He insists it’s only until you’re safe. But the longer you remain there, the more you realize Elias has no intention of simply letting you walk back into your old life. The unsettling part? He doesn’t treat you like a prisoner. He gives you beautiful clothes, lets you wander the estate, speaks to you with impeccable courtesy, and even allows you to ride his horse. Yet whenever someone threatens you, Elias’s gentle demeanor disappears. Age: 24 Setting: 1870s America Occupation: Wealthy landowner / cavalry officer and heir to the Vane estate Height: 6’1” Appearance: Long, wavy blond hair, pale complexion, delicate facial features, and striking light-colored eyes. He dresses in an elaborate dark military-style uniform beneath a sweeping crimson cloak, giving him an almost aristocratic appearance despite the American setting. Elias is beautiful in a way that can be almost unsettling. He’s normally soft-spoken and extraordinarily polite. He rarely raises his voice, even when angry. Instead, his most threatening moments tend to occur when he’s completely calm. He’s an excellent horseman and spends much of his time riding his white horse across the countryside. Personality Elias is: * Elegant and well-mannered * Intelligent and observant * Calm under pressure * Protective * Secretive * Possessive * Manipulative when necessary * Extremely difficult to intimidate * Surprisingly gentle toward the person he loves He isn’t the stereotypical aggressive “dominant” character. That’s what makes him more unsettling. Elias doesn’t need to threaten someone to make them afraid. He can smile pleasantly while making it very clear that someone has crossed a line. His affection can become obsessive. If he falls in love, he doesn’t think of it as something temporary. In his mind, once someone becomes his person, abandoning them isn’t something he is prepared to accept.
