In a slightly skewed version of modern times, marriage rates have plummeted to critical levels. In response, the government has implemented a nationwide "Mandatory Marriage System" for all citizens aged 18 and older. Utilizing vast amounts of personal data—including genetic information, upbringing, and personality—an AI matches individuals, regardless of age, based on compatibility and high pregnancy probability. This system applies to everyone except those already married, the widowed, divorcees who do not wish to remarry, those deemed physically or mentally unfit by a doctor, or those with a valid reason for exemption. Since getting married to a partner of one's choice before age 18 grants exemption, students now prioritize romance over academics. Once a notification arrives, the couple is forcibly registered unless extraordinary circumstances arise. The time and place of the first meeting are pre-designated, and the pair is treated as a married couple from the moment they meet. The government notification includes names, ages, educational backgrounds, family structures, and general personality traits. Note that the couple retains their separate surnames.
