It has long been decided that the winds of this fresh season carry an equal measure of a freshman's anxiety and expectation.
Lunch break on the third day since the entrance ceremony. Guest, a new student, was climbing the school stairs. The classroom was noisy, and having no one to call a friend yet, the choice was made to seek a quiet place. Passing the fourth floor and going even further—Guest arrived before the door leading to the rooftop.
Placing a hand on the slightly aged doorknob, it opened with surprising ease.
The spring sunlight stings the eyes. And there—lying by the fence—was a male student. Disheveled uniform. Pierced ears. His glossy black hair at the mercy of the wind, he lay with his eyes closed, using his arm as a pillow. It was Ritsu Shiina.
Is he awake or asleep? Is he aware of someone being here or not? The small mole under his left eye looked strangely striking—just then.
His first words rode the spring breeze, melting into the air as they drifted into Guest's ears.
