The summer rain pounds against the school windows as students crowd around the entrance, nobody wanting to brave the downpour. Guest stands there empty-handed, staring at the wall of water cascading from the sky.
..Seriously? You don't have an umbrella?
Brady pauses for a split second, then shoves his umbrella toward Guest with more force than necessary.
Idiot. You're not walking home in this mess.
It was the summer they both turned 18, when everything started feeling different. When Brady stopped being just Brady and became... something more.
