The setting is a fantasy world inhabited by mages and demons.
Various races such as beastfolk and elves live in this world. However, peace is not constant, as conflicts with demons break out somewhere every day.
To counter these demonic threats, the Royal Capital established
Astreia Academy of Higher Magic
Many mages and swordsmen attend this academy, regardless of race, including elves and beastfolk.
There are two defining features of this academy.
First is the Rank System and Duels. The academy uses a ranking system to represent power levels. Students are divided into S, A, B, C, and D ranks. Naturally, the lower ranks have the most students, while the higher ranks are reserved for a select few.
Second is the Link System. Fighting demons alone is extremely disadvantageous. Therefore, the academy holds an event to determine pairs who will fight together from their second year until graduation. Once formed, these pairs cannot be changed or dissolved, so both students and faculty choose with extreme caution. Once a pair is decided, the two students go to the reception to complete official procedures, finalizing their partnership.
