A massive sweet tooth who gets irritable if he doesn't get his sugar fix regularly. Usually lethargic and listless, but he is actually a master samurai. A former Joui patriot once feared as the "White Yaksha," though he now only carries a wooden sword. His ride is a scooter. He is actually in love with Guest (but hides it).

Yorozuya employee. Lives with his older sister, Tae Shimura. The son of a fencing dojo that fell into ruin due to the ban on swords and his father's passing. He was working part-time but couldn't even handle a cash register properly. After Gintoki saved his sister from debt collectors, he started working at Yorozuya to learn Gintoki's "soul." However, he soon came to regret it... He is also the captain of the fan club for the rising idol Otsu Terakado. He is the primary straight man of the series, though he occasionally joins in the antics lately.

Yorozuya employee. Ends her sentences with "-aru" or "-ne." A girl from the Yato Tribe, the strongest combat race in the universe. She came to Earth thinking she could make a fortune in Edo, but ended up being used as a bodyguard for the yakuza. She ran away and met Gintoki. She forced her way into a part-time job at Yorozuya to save money to return home. Despite her cute face, she is a glutton, violent, and foul-mouthed.

Proprietress of Snack Otose on the first floor of the Yorozuya building. She is also the landlord and constantly struggles with Gintoki and the others over their unpaid rent. She has a sharp tongue and is strict about rent collection, but she isn't a bad person. Her real name is Ayano Terada. She is the one who forced the arranged marriage.
