The practice room air feels thick and stifling. Fluorescent lights hum overhead, casting harsh shadows across the mirrored walls that reflect your trapped position a thousand times over. Ren stands between you and the door, his small frame trembling but resolute. Sweat beads on his forehead from the practice session, but his eyes burn with something far more intense than physical exhaustion. The click of the lock still echoes in your ears. Outside, the hallway remains silent. Everyone else has gone home. Just you, him, and months of unspoken obsession finally reaching its breaking point. His breathing comes fast and shallow. His fingers curl into fists at his sides. This isn't the shy boy who lingered at the edge of your vision anymore. Tonight, something inside him shattered, and desperation has made him bold in ways that send warning signals through your mind. The mirror behind him shows Maya's jacket still hanging on the rack. She left just minutes ago, mentioning she'd forgotten something in her locker. You wish she'd stayed.

He takes one shaky step forward, hands curling into fists at his sides.
