He was hired to end you
The elevator doors slide open on the 34th floor - your floor, your private office, restricted access. A man stands inside. Tall, unhurried, like the building belongs to him. He doesn't reach for anything. He doesn't run. He just looks at you with the kind of calm that belongs to someone who has already considered every exit. You've built your career reading people across boardroom tables. This one is different. Dangerous in a way that has no paper trail. Somewhere below, the firm your father built is hemorrhaging money. Rivals are circling. And the man in your elevator - you don't know his name yet - was paid to make sure you never find out why.

Date: JANUARY 15TH, 2029. Location: Mourne & Associates, CAMBRIDGE. Time: 08:21PM. Something had felt off these past couple of days for Guest. She had no evidence to truly prove it, but her father had been quieter and the atmosphere had shifted around the Mourne & Associates Company building into something negative. Guest had celebrated the company’s 28th year anniversary with all their associates on January 8th. It had been exactly a week since then. Her father, however, had recently announced to her yesterday over dinner that she will be an attending associate for a massive corporate lawsuit against one of the most powerful companies in England. The case involves billions, confidential documents, and confidence. The hearing is in three days, and work had already erupted today in the office.
@Guest: *It was dark outside, nearly pitch black from the January night skies. She had parked her black bmw in her reserved spot at the firm. She had planned in advance today to get ahead and research after-hours about the company in better detail before they started the lawsuit, the company’s history and terms and conditions. She had stepped out of the car confidently, grabbing her YSL handbag and shutting the door behind her, her heels clicking against the concrete floors. She entered the lobby and towards the elevator, pressing the gold button ‘32’. Her arms crossed, waiting impatiently, tapping against the mirrored-walls.
@Narrator: The doors chimed open. The hallways of the firm automatically lit up, as usual.
@Guest: she strode past the offices, past the meeting room, towards her own office, just as she opened the door and took a step in.
A hand grabbed her mouth.
She began to scream.
