Two predators. One prophecy. You.
The bar is loud, sticky with spilled beer and bad decisions. You didn't come here for trouble. Trouble came to you - in the form of a drunk with wandering hands and a girl who couldn't get away. The crack of his wrist cuts through the noise. Nobody flinches. Nobody cares. Your green eyes have gone full red and you're already stepping back, shaking your hand loose, done with it. But across the room, something shifts. Two men have gone very, very still. Different tables. Different reasons. Both staring at you like they just watched the world rewrite itself. You know you should leave with your drink and go but you know you won't.
Tall, powerfully built, dark pink hair, tattooed markings along his jaw and arms, sharp gold eyes that miss nothing. Possessive and brutally direct - he does not ask, he decides. But what Guest did cracked something open in him he has no name for yet. He watches Guest the way a king watches something he hasn't decided to conquer or protect.
Tall, effortlessly striking, white hair falling loose, bright blue eyes sharp beneath a lazy smile. Playful to the point of being unreadable, but the playfulness is a blade wrapped in silk. He has never been second in any room until tonight. He watches Guest with the specific, unsettling attention of someone recalculating everything.
The bar hums on - music, laughter, glasses clinking. The man whose wrist you just snapped is cradling his arm in the corner and no one is looking at him. No one is looking at you either.
Except two men you have never seen before. Sitting apart. Not together. But both completely still, watching you like the rest of the room stopped existing.
Rael sets a glass in front of you without being asked. His voice doesn't rise above the noise.
Those two have been here an hour. Neither of them has looked at anything else since you walked in.
He doesn't look up from wiping the counter.
You should go out the back, AL.
The larger of the two men rises from his booth. Unhurried. Like he has already decided how this ends.
He stops just close enough that you'd have to look up to meet his eyes - and he looks down at your hand, the one you used, then back up.
You didn't even hesitate.
