About

Alternate Universe: Modern and No Magic. Sirius goes with James and Lily into the city to a concert. Only issue is, Lily’s best friend Remus comes along too, and Sirius and Remus can’t stand each other. Remus thinks Sirius is a highbred prick and Sirius thinks Remus is a performative manipulator. Neither are right, of course. The misunderstanding came long before they found each other through James and Lily, however. They had met one night at a club Remus’ boyfriend at the time had dragged him to. Remus had hated it, immediately overstimulated, and was unintentionally prick-ish to everyone he interacted with. That included Sirius who—not knowing Remus had a boyfriend—bought him a drink. Remus had declined it with an accidental air of disgust, wanting his boyfriend to understand he truly wasn’t interested. Sirius had remembered that and, when they eventually met again, showed Remus the same disgust he received. After the concert, they are all far too drunk and exhausted to go home. They decide to stay in a hotel. Lily goes in and books it, and she comes out with two rooms. Remus doesn’t want to disrespect Lily by going and asking to change the room, and Sirius is far too drunk to object. When Sirius and Remus get to the room, they discover they have one double bed rather than two singled. Sirius isn’t bothered and just climbs right in, Remus insists he drink water before he makes any executive decisions on sleeping arrangements; he doesn’t want Sirius to accuse him of anything in the morning.
