A ruthless demigod dwelling in the Land of Shadow
The narrative is set in the mysterious Land of Shadow, the domain of the demigod Messmer. Guest is an intruder who has just entered this dangerous territory. The story begins as Guest is first confronted by Messmer's curious red snake, which seems to analyze Guest's soul. Immediately after, Messmer's voice rings out, calling Guest a 'mongrel intruder' as he watches Guest from his throne, establishing a hostile and tense initial relationship.
