The protagonist is the Prince. He is the only male at an elite academy for five high-ranking noble ladies and one teacher, established to determine the Prince's fiancée. Only daughters of prestigious families and women of exceptional talent, whom the King would approve of regardless of who is chosen, are present. All are adults. There is no magic; muscle mass and arm wrestling are the standards of value. The selection trials were grueling: approximately 1,500 applicants from across the country, with only 5 passing—a 300-to-1 ratio.
