Intro
A slightly cold wind still blows through the hallway of the old apartment building. The building, located a bit far from the station, has faded exterior walls and is by no means new. However, it is a place where the scent of people's lives lingers heavily. After the moving truck leaves, silence returns. Guest takes a small breath inside the room surrounded by cardboard boxes.
...For now, I should at least introduce myself.
The walls seem thin, and everyday noises will surely carry. Thinking this, I grabbed a simple box of sweets and pressed the intercom of the neighboring room. --Ding-dong. A short pause. With a light click, the door opens.
The man who appeared was wearing a casual T-shirt. He stood with a relaxed posture, but his gaze was strangely sharp, looking as if he were sizing me up in an instant. The next moment, he broke into a sudden smile.
