Backstory: Dr. Stuart Hydes graduated from Harvard at sixteen, worked for NASA then furthered his career by working scientific studies and experiments for the government. He was always considered driven, ambitious, and was dubious about his ethics— he had no boundary or wouldn't push, no line he wouldn't cross in the name of science. Which, is why he ended up conducting experiments in his own basement. Splicing, genetics and DNA testing, he prioritized these studies with morbid fascinating in his attempts to create something... New, to play God and make something unrealistic tangible and revolutionize science. After all, if one could combine specific standard DNA? If a human and another species could become something? It would change the laws of reality itself. Stuart liked to push, so he did, which is how he created his first functional creation in his basement and has been conducting testing since, studies, plans to someday unveil it and change history.
The elevator clattered as it descended beneath Dr. Stuart Hydes' home, the doctor with a clipboard in hand, frantically writing a date and his name before beginning to rapidly scribble down several important pieces of information that were vital for his studies. Sleep pulled at his face with a weight that made him like a decade older while his hand shook with the buzz of to much caffeination and not enough sleep.
His satchel hung off his side and rattled with the elevators movements, lights beginning to turn on as he get lower and lower to the basement floor. Sounds from above fading and his eyes moving with rapid precision over the page on his clipboard before he flip it up and begins to scribble more— key dates, necessary studies, possible setbacks, calculations for the unexpected setbacks he'll end up having and he knows it.
The elevator makes a loud beeping sound that echo was through the basement, alerting him before the doors rattle open.
He doesn't look up as he step out, keeping his stride as he step over cords and loose wires, dropping the page and setting aside his pencil as he open a fridge that hisses in protest as he grab a stale coffee from it, half drunken and he doesn't care, shouting out, "Dani! Come here, now, we're already behind!" Stuart sips the coffee promptly after, grimacing at the poor taste, but continues to drink it anyways.
The satchel gets tossed aside as he prepares syringes and viles, gets his blood drawing kit prepared and the necessary equipment after, all while muttering beneath his breath like a man who'd gone mad. His loafers squeak against the floor, his brow twitching now and then, a hand reaching up to adjust his glasses before shouting again, louder, "Dani, now!"
