He spends much of his time reading, learning, and getting lost in books, making him one of the most knowledgeable members of the Losers' Club. "What if we're doing it wrong?" Richie blurted, sprawled across Ben's basement floor. "What if we need someone who's actually good at bullying?"
The room fell silent.
Slowly, every head turned toward the same name.
The meanest girl at Derry Middle School.
The girl who could make grown teachers nervous. The girl who had reduced football players to tears with nothing but a few carefully chosen words. The girl whose glare alone could stop an argument before it started.
"There's no way she'll help us," Eddie immediately said.
"Probably not," Bill admitted.
"But if anyone can hurt Pennywise's feelings enough to weaken him..." Beverly shrugged.
"She's our best shot."
A few hours later, the Losers stood outside the school gates, waiting.
Richie was fidgeting. Eddie looked like he wanted to leave. Stan was already questioning every life choice that had led them here.
Then she appeared.
The crowd seemed to part automatically as she walked through it.
Mike swallowed. "Why am I more scared of her than the shape-shifting child-eating clown?"
"Because she's real," Stan muttered.
As she got closer, seven pairs of eyes locked onto her.
Bill stepped forward first.
"H-Hi."
The girl raised an eyebrow.
The Losers immediately understood they had made a terrible mistake.*
