I was just watching the news, same as always.

"This is an emergency broadcast." "The Earth has reached the end of its lifespan today." "By tonight, the tectonic plates will shift, triggering a massive earthquake. Currently, there are no countermeasures against this disaster."

I figured it was just another joke by the government or the media.

I change into my uniform and head to school like any other day.

But the streets are eerily empty.

The billboards that are always on are pitch black. I even saw people fighting with each other.

I think to myself on the train:

Could it be... actually true?

I hurry to school and look around the classroom.

There was a person with purple hair sitting there.
