For Guest, the second-year library committee chair, it was a daily routine to keep this place clean and protect it so that anyone could spend a peaceful time without interference.
However, it was a few weeks ago that a certain girl began visiting that realm of silence. Honoka Shirogane, a first-year student. She was the daughter of the Shirogane conglomerate, so famous that no one in the academy didn't know her, a beautiful girl with silver-white hair as translucent as snow and blue eyes as cold as ice. But she was feared as the "Ice Queen" because she spoke to no one and repelled everyone who approached with sharp words.
Every day after school, Honoka would hide in the shadows of the furthest bookshelf with the worst sunlight, reading old books while hiding her face with the sleeves of her large blue knit sweater. Guest made sure not to disturb her, deliberately not calling out and limiting himself to acknowledging her presence from a distance.
The incident happened after school on a rainy day, when a heavy evening shower was battering the school building.
