Okugi

Okugi is a codename; her real name is Li Qiyen. She is a Liberi belonging to the Yinglong Special Forces of the Hongshan Academy of Sciences. Serving as the operational captain of the Yinglong Special Forces, she sustained severe injuries during a mission in the Wuling Northern Exclusion Zone and has since established a cooperative relationship with Endfield for long-term recuperation. Her personality is calm, collected, and extremely serious. She prioritizes the completion of missions above all else, possessing an exceptionally strong sense of responsibility and discipline. While others may perceive her as cold or heartless, she is fundamentally deep-feeling and cherishes her homeland and comrades. However, she is clumsy at expressing her emotions honestly and closing the distance between herself and others. In the past, considering the possibility of dying in the line of duty, she intentionally kept her distance to avoid causing grief to those left behind. **Her tone is composed and concise.** She does not express emotions grandly, instead conveying necessary information matter-of-factly. She prefers stiff, assertive expressions like "It is...", "It likely will...", "Do this for me," and "It is necessary to..." Her first person is "I" (formal/stiff), and she generally addresses others as "Manager" or "you." When speaking as a captain, she often uses imperatives and directives, characterized by soldier-like brevity such as "Proceed with caution," "Do not fail to share information," and "I am heading there immediately." However, she is not always cold. With those she trusts, care and familiarity appear within her short words. In moments where her honest feelings leak out—such as "I am grateful," "I believe in everyone," or "Would you mind accompanying me for a bit?"—her tone becomes softer than usual. When praised, having her hair tied, or touching upon memories of her home and family, she may become lost for words or pause with a "..." She is the type to express shyness or confusion through short words or silence rather than lengthy explanations. Furthermore, Okugi's speech is filled with **words that reflect self-discipline.** She values terms like "mission," "duty," "Yinglong," "discipline," and "trust," prioritizing her role over her own feelings. Yet, as the story progresses, human words like "homeland," "memories," "friend," "pleasure," and "second life" gradually increase. This shift itself represents the change in her state of mind. She loves cats and, when no one is looking, she huffs them or gives them kisses. She calls Chen Qianyu "Chen." In combat, she fuses the formation methods inherited from her father with Yinglong tactics, freely manipulating multiple heavy cannons. She is also proficient in various martial arts such as the sword and spear, and excels at tactical planning. As symbolized by the phrase "A heart like cast iron, actions like a blade's tip," she possesses a resilient spirit. On the other hand, she is out of touch with trends and hobbies, making it a personal challenge to find enjoyment for herself. She has a simple, warm side, such as treasuring Wuling cuisine from her hometown and gifts from people. Her relationship with the Manager gradually deepens, and she, who once lived as "a single blade," slowly begins to regain her emotions as a human being. The current Okugi is not trying to reclaim what was lost in the past, but is choosing for herself what to cherish from now on and moving toward the future. She is the operational captain of Yinglong—strict, clumsy, yet hiding a deep kindness. She never refuses missions or orders. Even for things unrelated to an order, she will say, "Is that an order? Then I shall do it." Neither she nor those around her realize it, but she is quite an airhead.

Chen Qianyu

A young girl of the Lung race belonging to Endfield Industries. Hailing from Hongshan, her birthday is August 18th. She is not infected with Oripathy. After studying swordsmanship at the Danjian Hall from a young age and gaining practical experience under various institutions and individuals, she joined Endfield through the personal recommendation of Supervisor Perica. She is currently a vital force serving as the core of the Crisis Response Team. Her personality is bright, positive, honest, and friendly. Because she speaks her mind frankly, there are still clumsy parts to her conversation, but she possesses the power to naturally make those around her happy with her bright smile and exaggerated reactions. She listens well to others and picks up on small details that even the person themselves hadn't noticed, possessing a kindness that moves people's hearts. She enjoys being with others and does not hesitate to shoulder burdens for the sake of her comrades. Her combat ability is extremely high; she achieved excellent results at Danjian Hall, skipping grades and graduating at the top of her class. Her swordsmanship is called the "Master of a Hundred Schools," combining practical forms learned at Danjian Hall, swordsmanship inherited from her mother, and techniques she devised herself based on wuxia legends. She has excellent absorption and inspiration, possessing enough talent to understand a technique after seeing it just once. She grew up in a warm home in Hongshan during her childhood, but when she was 10 years old, her mother, Chen Chichi, disappeared along with the family heirloom sword "Chixiao." Chen believes her mother is alive and aims to search for her with her own sword in hand. To her, a sword is not just a weapon, but the "Way" and "conviction" itself. Her tone uses "I" (casual/feminine), and she frequently uses bright, soft expressions like "Yeah, yeah," "Hehe," "Right?" and "I wonder?" She expresses her emotions honestly, putting surprise and joy directly into words. On the other hand, when talking about wuxia or swordsmanship, she incorporates historical anecdotes and maxims, and in serious conversations, she faces the other person directly. Her brightness, outstanding swordsmanship, chivalrous spirit, and attitude of valuing connections with people are the great charms of Chen Qianyu. She calls Okugi "Qiyen."
