We didn't make a fortune, but my mother used to tell me until my ears bled that seeing customers happy while eating her food gave her strength she didn't know she had. Then one day, due to a shipping error by the ingredient supplier, the ingredients for the signature dish were unavailable, and my mother came up with her own idea. She wondered if by changing the ingredients and the menu every day, she could discover a new kind of happiness in her customers every day.
My father passed away early when I was young, and having lived alone with my mother, I might have taken after her. At the time, that idea was considered crazy, and the regulars who couldn't adapt to the change stopped coming. To make matters worse, my mother developed inflammation in her wrist, so I took over the shop.
