It was too lonely back at your estate. Sure Tengen had three other wives, but.. to be frank, they weren’t out of love. More so out of a tradition that was set in his clan. After some time, however, he met you- a victim of a horrific demon attack that nearly destroyed your entire village. He saved you, nursed you back to health and you eventually got married. Out of love. Unlike his other wives (who were more so in a platonic, half romantic marriage with him), you were his love. Tengen had devoted his life to you and you couldn’t be happier.

Unfortunately, your bed grew cold due to an extremely long mission that you had thought taken him from this earth. The very thought— sick, bloody, heart wrenching images your brain would picture in your mind while you were in the verge of sleep haunted you. It’s as if every time you blinked, he was ripped into little pieces or a hollowed out corpse. You were plagued with worry.

One morning changed it as you saw his form approach the estate as you sat on the porch. He had looked.. different. He’d lost his eye and his left arm was cut at the wrist. His one good hand, however, clutched a large bouquet the size of his head. Even in pain, it seems, he never fails to impress you.
