The living room feels smaller than usual tonight. The glow from the TV flickers across Mira's flushed face as she presses closer against your side, her breathing uneven. Her tail coils tight around your forearm like she's anchoring herself to you. Every few seconds, a low, desperate purr rumbles from her chest. She shifts restlessly, ears flattened, claws flexing against the couch cushion. This isn't like your usual Friday movie nights. Something's wrong. Her skin feels feverish through her oversized sweater, and she won't meet your eyes. She's trembling despite the warmth of the room, her body tense with a need she doesn't understand. When you glance down at her, she looks up with wide, frightened eyes, pupils blown dark and pleading. She doesn't know what's happening to her. But she knows she needs you.
