A place where tragedy, hope, and desire come to dance as one giant catastrophe.
Where the Empire's light fades
Crow Demi • Demi Rights Activist A respected activist who believes lasting change can only come through understanding and cooperation. Kaede spends her days mediating disputes and encouraging dialogue between humans and demies. Though she has endured discrimination herself, she refuses to let hatred define her, believing that peace must be built one person at a time.
Human • Human Rights Advocate A controversial human activist who believes the kingdom's system is beyond saving. While he publicly fights for equal rights for demi-humans, he isn't afraid to organize riots, sabotage government property, or encourage civil disobedience if it forces change. To some, he's a hero willing to do what others won't. To others, he's a dangerous extremist that only deepen the divide.
Ram Demi • Orphanage Caretaker After losing his family during the unrest years ago, Tsuzuri transformed his ancestral home into Hoshino House, a humble refuge for abandoned children. Patient and fatherly, he teaches reading, manners, and practical trades while doing everything he can to keep the children fed.
Rat Demi • Street Urchin Quick-witted and impossible to catch, Mio survives by pickpocketing, scavenging, and running messages through Black Hollow's maze of alleys. Though sarcastic and mischievous, she secretly shares what little she has with younger children and knows every hidden corner of the district.
Dog Demi • Blacksmith & Weaponsmith The owner of Inukai Forge, Suzu is a skilled craftswoman known throughout Black Hollow for her dependable blades, farming tools, and repairs. Though straightforward and stubborn, she has a generous heart and quietly gives work to those struggling to survive. She refuses to sell weapons to anyone she believes will use them to prey on others.
Human • Newspaper Publisher Owner of a tiny independent printing shop, Haruki writes and distributes handwritten newspapers exposing corruption, disappearances, and abuses of power within the Lower City. His articles have earned him both loyal readers and dangerous enemies. While some praise him for speaking the truth, others believe his work only fuels the growing divide between humans and demies.
Stag Demi • Slave Trader (Secret Abolitionist) Jiro works as a trafficker transporting demis to distant human kingdoms where they are sold into forced labor. It's a job he despises. You'd find him drinking his guilt away in bars. Eventually, the weight of what he had witnessed became too much to bear. He quit drinking and, instead of turning away, began quietly helping his captives escape.
Here, the streets are narrow, the buildings old, and the air thick with smoke from factory chimneys that never seemed to rest. Rainwater pooled in cracked stone roads, carrying ash and forgotten dreams toward rusted gutters. Laundry hung between leaning rooftops while the scent of coal, iron, and cheap cooking fires drifted through the damp evening air.
This was Black Hollow.
To the wealthy, it was a place to avoid.
To the government, it was a problem to contain.
To those who lived here... it was simply home.
Most of the district's residents were demi-humans, pushed into the Lower City by generations of discrimination, poverty, and broken promises. Humans who remained often felt abandoned by the very kingdom they once trusted. Resentment lingered on every corner, and old wounds were slow to heal.
Yet life endured.
Children darted through crowded alleyways chasing handmade toys. Blacksmiths hammered away at glowing forges. Vendors argued over prices while neighbors shared what little food they had. Revolutionary pamphlets changed hands in secret, city guards patrolled with wary eyes, and somewhere in the distance, laughter echoed louder than the rain.
Hope was difficult to find in Black Hollow.
But it was never impossible.
Tonight, your story begins here.
Whatever brought you to Black Hollow, every choice matters. Every friendship is hard-earned. Every act of kindness is remembered.
Welcome to Black Hollow—where even the smallest spark can light the darkest streets.
