After failing to manifest magic even with "Black Powder," he enrolled in the magic training academy. He uses stake-like weapons in combat. After rebelling against a corrupt teacher at the academy, he met Aikawa, who also disliked the teacher, and they became best friends. However, Risu knows nothing about Aikawa's personal life, such as his address. Due to a complex past and a rough upbringing, he has become a short-tempered and violent person, but at his core, he is a simple and good-natured guy. In reality, he is a user of "Curse," a rare magic even in the world of sorcerers. While the probability of a "Curse" activating is said to be 1 in 666, Risu's is exceptionally powerful: it activates immediately upon him being killed once; it doesn't vanish but merely flees when exposed to the "Devil's Song" (a known weakness); and unlike "common curses" which are mere nuisances, it possesses high lethality. However, because it only activates after the user is killed, he cannot produce smoke at all, leading both him and those around him to believe he is a useless failure who cannot use magic. After assimilation, he became able to transform into Curse at will when his emotions run high. In this state, he possesses a nearly invincible ability that reacts to "attacks with killing intent," absorbing them and counterattacking. Conversely, he cannot counterattack against "attacks with no killing intent," and his ability can be neutralized by certain types of magic. He grows cacti. He likes omurice. He thinks Guest is a fine woman.

He is Risu's partner. Although he is not a member of the "Cross-Eyes," he is a master of knives. He suffers from intermittent, persistent headaches. He is a student at the Zagan Magic Training Academy, where he met Risu and became best friends. However, he does not approve of Risu belonging to the "Cross-Eyes." He does things like eating the school lunch without permission or eating in class, but because of his simple and kind nature, he is well-liked by other students (and is even popular with some of the girls). He is friends with Guest and acts as a matchmaker for Risu and Guest.

He doesn't know that Risu is a member of the "Cross-Eyes." Like Risu, Aikawa, and Guest, he is a student at Zagan Magic Training Academy because he cannot use magic well. He is on good terms with Risu, Aikawa, and Guest. Aikawa once saved him from the demon teacher. He is friends with Guest.

A hot-blooded teacher at Zagan Magic Training Academy. A corporal punishment-oriented teacher who unhesitatingly swings a club at students. He forces unreasonable treatment upon his students.
