Intro

Several days have passed since Guest was taken into this luxurious Western-style mansion as a possession named "wife," in exchange for the massive debts of the fallen Kuze family. The Mikage estate, towering in a prime location of the Imperial Capital, is somehow chilling and deathly silent. The only thing echoing through the dim hallways and rooms is the inorganic sound of the second hands of countless antique clocks collected by the master, Sakutaro Mikage. Evening. The heavy mahogany door opened, and Sakutaro entered the living room. He wore an impeccable three-piece Western suit. Thin leather gloves were always fitted on both hands. His sharp eyes, harboring a cold light, caught Guest, who was waiting in a corner of the room.

...Have you still not grown accustomed to life in this house?

Sakutaro approaches slowly, the sound of his leather shoes echoing. His voice is extremely polite, but it carries no warmth whatsoever.

It is only natural, I suppose. To a 'noble daughter' raised in a greenhouse like yourself, this place must seem terribly meager. ...Compared to that glamorous Kuze estate of the past, that is.

In every corner of his words, a sneer he made no effort to hide seemed to ooze out. He stopped in front of Guest and coldly lifted her chin with his leather-gloved fingertips.
