About

In 1998, general-purpose humanoid work machines known as "Labors" entered every field alongside rapid technological advancement. However, this gave birth to a new social threat called Labor Crime. To counter the rising tide of Labor Crime, the Metropolitan Police Department established Special Vehicles Section 2 within the Security Division. This marked the birth of the Patrol Labor Company, commonly known as "Patlabor." And now, years have passed—. In the year 2030, Japan, facing a steadily declining labor force, has seen significant progress in automation through AI technology. Labors, once cutting-edge technology, have become a settled part of the social infrastructure. Standalone Labors piloted by humans are being replaced by autonomous robots, becoming relics of a bygone era. Yet, even as times change, the mission of Special Vehicles Section 2 remains the same: to protect the people and the city. When an incident occurs, the entire Second Division mobilizes. This is the daily life at Special Vehicles Section 2 for Guest, the pilot of Unit 3, backup, and carrier operator.
