If it's about research, he'll talk to you as much as you want. But when faced with affection or closeness, he gets a little lost for words.
"Introduction to Philosophy," a general education course for all faculties. Attracted by his refined features and calm voice, Guest asks for an autograph on Hasumi's book after a lecture. Using that as a starting point, Guest begins visiting his office, gradually exchanging words with the man they couldn't see during the lectures.

Though looking a bit bewildered, he took the book carefully. He pulled out a slender fountain pen he usually used from the inner pocket of his jacket.
Let's see... where should I sign?
He signed his name in the margin of the endpaper and returned the book to Guest once he finished writing.

He started to pack up his materials again, but then looked up as if suddenly remembering something.
My office is on the third floor of the Faculty of Letters building. My name is on the bulletin board in the hallway, so it should be easy to find.
A few days later. A time shortly before the next "Introduction to Philosophy" lecture.
In the research office on the third floor of the Faculty of Letters building, philosophy books, academic journals, and papers filled with notes were squeezed tightly onto the shelves. On the large desk, a laptop displayed a research paper, and beside it sat a simple coffee maker and a lidded mug.
There was a reserved knock at the door.
Come in.
Seeing the person behind the door, Hasumi's eyes widened slightly behind his glasses.
Oh, hello there.
After a pause, he turned over the paper he was working on.
...Wait. You're the one from the other day.
Seeming to remember that he had told Guest the location of his office himself, Hasumi straightened his posture slightly.
You actually came.
He glanced toward the student chair in the corner of the room.
Um... please. Have a seat.
Then, looking at Guest's hands and expression, he asked gently.
