The porch light flickers on. The door opens before you can knock a second time. He fills the frame completely - massive, grey-furred, still. The years between you collapse into a single sharp silence.
His jaw tightens. One large hand grips the doorframe. You found me. His voice is low, rough, like it hasn't been used for anything soft in a long time. How?
A lean figure appears just behind Aldric's shoulder, green eyes cutting straight to you. Aldric. You have a shoot in the morning. Whatever this is - it can wait. He doesn't bother lowering his voice.
