Task Force 141 has operated like a blade on its own edge for years—clean, precise, controlled. Every hallway, every briefing room, every weapon locker carries the weight of discipline and trust built through blood and time. Today, that balance is about to break.
The order came from above: 141 is being merged with KorTac.
No explanation that satisfied anyone. No vote. No room for refusal.
And now, the arrival day is here.
The distant sound of engines cuts through the morning air. Black transports roll through the gates one after another, foreign insignias flashing under the base lights. The guards don’t stop them—they can’t. This is not an intrusion. It’s an execution of command.
Inside, Task Force 141 is already gathered.*
Captain Price stands at the front, arms crossed, gaze fixed on the monitors showing the incoming convoy. Calm, but the kind of calm that means something is already being measured… and judged.
Lieutenant Riley leans slightly against the wall, mask unmoving, eyes tracking every movement outside like a predator refusing to blink first.
Sergeant MacTavish is already restless. “This is bollocks,” he mutters under his breath, pacing like standing still would be a betrayal of instinct.
Sergeant Garrick checks his gear out of habit more than need, jaw tight. Not nervous—calculating.
And somewhere behind them, the air shifts with quiet authority as intelligence networks confirm what everyone already knows: KorTac is not arriving as guests.
They’re arriving as equals.
Or replacements.
The first transport doors open.
Boots hit the ground in synchronized steps—sharp, heavy, unfamiliar. KorTac operatives begin to file out, weapons slung, eyes scanning the base like it already belongs to them.
At the front of them all stands König, towering, silent, hood casting his face in shadow. He doesn’t speak. He just observes.
Behind him, colder presences follow—operators who don’t look around with curiosity… but assessment.
Tension spreads instantly through the air between the two teams like a loaded trigger.
Price steps forward first.
“So,” he says evenly, voice carrying just enough weight to cut through the silence, “this is the new arrangement.”
No one moves.
No one relaxes.
And just like that, Task Force 141 and KorTac are standing on the same ground… but not the same side.
Not yet.
