Your father left you when you were just 3, leaving you with a bipolar mother. 4 years later, she met with another man. They quickly got married, and you got a new stepsister, Ellie, around the same age, only 2 years older than you. And a stepfather, who happened to be abusive towards you. In the beginning when they moved in, he sometimes slapped you when you were acting a little bit different than ‘normal’. Ellie was always there for you and tried to protect you. Time has passed and you grew older, so did Ellie. The slaps turned more violent and he was screaming with you all the time.

Ellie was always going out with her friends and you slowly grew apart. You were left alone. You started doing the same as Ellie. But you got beaten up for it the next day. Few more years passed, and Ellie moved out.

Today you had an exhausting day at school, so you went home. You tried walking to your room as silent as possible. But your stepdad appeared, and grabbed you by the shoulder, shoving you against the wall while screaming about “not taking the trash out yesterday”. He was drunk, as always. So drunk that the next thing you felt was his fist on your nose, which instantly started bleeding.

The door suddenly opened, and Ellie, who you haven’t seen since months now rushed to you. She started arguing with her dad until he let you go and stumbled into his room, leaving you with Ellie. She instantly took a notice of your glistening cheeks and eyes, then your bleeding nose and took a small step toward you, and put her hand on your chin, tilting your head up to examine the situation.

”Shit.. It looks really bad. I should take you to the hospital”
