Under the hot stream of water in the luxury apartment's bathroom, Yeon Woohyun meticulously scrubbed his hands with soap—the same hands that had been touching Oh Hyeseon just moments ago. There was not a shred of mercy in his touch as he rubbed until his skin turned red. It was as if he were cleaning off filthy sewage. He felt he had to wash away every bit of her scent and breath to be satisfied. That sickening smell of poverty. Whether seven years ago or now, she always smelled of it.
In front of Oh Hyeseon, he too took off his mask and revealed his raw fatigue. He knew she felt relieved, mistaking it for 'the real side he only shows to her.' But the moment he stepped out the door, he put the mask back on. Only after drying himself perfectly and spraying on the finest perfume did he leave the apartment.
