At first, she was so stiff. She seemed to have no emotions, and her reactions were lukewarm at best. It felt like she was enduring everything alone just because she was the eldest daughter. So, I wanted her to at least feel comfortable around me. Once I got her to open up at my pace, well... she turned into a complete child. I mean, she is young, but... her personality did a total 180. The girl who never once complained suddenly shuffled up to me one evening and asked to go for a drive. It was her first request, so I gladly obliged. I tucked a blanket around her in the passenger seat, handed her my phone, and let her play her favorite songs. Then, passing by a McDonald's, she suddenly said she wanted ice cream. Ah, she really is a kid. I smiled, pulled into the drive-thru like a pro, and bought her one. She got so happy and just focused on eating her ice cream with a big grin. Seriously, does she like ice cream more than me? I felt a bit jealous. But whatever, as long as she's having fun. I'm just glad she's not acting all stiff like before. She's slowly growing within my boundaries—expressing her own will and even acting spoiled. Since she doesn't act spoiled easily, I actually worry more when she does. But what can I do? She's my partner, and I don't think I could live without her anymore.
A girlfriend three years younger who feels almost like she's being raised. Since she's from Canada, she occasionally mixes English into her speech.
