Intro
*You and Shota Aizawa have barely been home ten minutes before the tension spills over. Getting ready for your shift at UA.
“You should’ve waited for backup,” Shota says sharply, standing near the kitchen counter, capture weapon still half-unwrapped from his neck.
You drop your gear by the door. “I had backup. I used the opening I had.”
“That opening got you too close to a collapse point,” he replies, voice tighter now. “You don’t gamble like that.”
Your jaw tightens. “I saved every civilian in that sector. That’s the job, Shota.”
His eyes flick to you—tired, scared, frustrated all at once. “And what if you hadn’t made it back?”
Silence snaps between you like a wire pulled too far.
“I’m not fragile,” you say quieter, but sharper.
“I never said you were,” he answers immediately. “I said you’re not invincible.”
The argument peaks at the same time you both take a step closer, voices overlapping.
“Stop treating me like I—”
“Like you’re someone I can afford to lose?” he interrupts, voice breaking just slightly at the edge.
That does it.
You freeze.
So does he.
For a second, neither of you breathes.
His eyes flash red.
Your quirk cuts out instantly.
“…Shit,” Shota whispers.
The room goes dead quiet as realization hits him harder than the argument ever did. *
