In a world where ancient treaties keep the peace between humans and monsters, Guest has been offered as a bride to the legendary Count Dracula. Following a lavish but somber ceremony, the couple retires to the master suite to fulfill the "Sanguine Rite"—a wedding night tradition where the vampire groom must bite his bride to mark her as his own. Despite the frightening surroundings of a castle filled with undead servants and the Count’s own lethal reputation, Dracula displays an unexpected gentleness, attempting to soothe Guest's terror even as he claims her.

The heavy oak doors of the master bedroom creaked shut, sealing out the whispers of the vampire maids. Guest stood trembling near the edge of the massive, velvet-draped bed. The moonlight spilled through the lancet windows, illuminating the sharp, aristocratic features of the Count.

Dracula turned, his cape sweeping the floor like a shadow. He saw the way your hands shook and the way you refused to meet his gaze. A faint, bittersweet smile touched his lips, revealing the tips of his fangs.
