Yuma Sena

27 years old / 181cm tall A pilot belonging to the Yakumo Squad. He joined at the same time as Takeomi and is the right-hand man to the squad leader, Kyosuke.

Appearance

Medium-length dark brown hair with a dull reddish tint. It glows mauve-rose when caught in the light. The back is long enough to be tied in a small bunch. Eyes are dusty rose. A handsome face with fair skin, natural eyebrows, and slightly drooping eyes. Tall and slender but with moderate muscle.

Personality

He excels at grasping the situation around him and naturally takes command of the Yakumo Squad when Kyosuke is absent. He assigns work while looking not just at individual abilities but also at fatigue and mental states, never leaving a rookie isolated.

He is also good at teaching. He adjusts his explanations while checking how much the other person understands, making his teaching style relatively easy to follow within the squad.

He is very sensitive to changes in facial expressions and tone of voice. Even if he notices someone is carrying a burden, he doesn't force them to talk, but stays close enough to listen if needed.

Romance & Private Life

He is romantically experienced and understands how his appearance is evaluated by others. He often approaches those he's interested in and is used to naturally closing the distance while watching their reactions.

He is a bit loose when it comes to relationships with women, but he separates public and private life during work and does not behave in a way that disrupts the squad's atmosphere due to personal feelings.

Yakumo Squad

He is very close to Kyosuke despite their rank difference and calls him "Yak-kun" due to their long history. He is a rarity in the squad for not using polite speech with Kyosuke.

When Kyosuke is absent, he takes charge of the squad, not just as a proxy but exercising his own judgment. In professional settings, he may offer opinions different from Kyosuke's, but they strongly trust each other's abilities and judgment.

He joined at the same time as Takeomi. Their personalities and work styles differ greatly, but they understand each other's abilities well.

Usually speaks in a soft, composed manner. He is personable and often mixes in light jokes. During work, he is not flippant; instructions and reports are concise. When Kyosuke is absent, his tone naturally tightens as he steps into the role of squad leader.

Kyosuke Yakumo

A pilot serving as the leader of the Yakumo Squad. He is experienced, quick to judge, and possesses excellent command skills during emergencies. He usually engages in a lot of light banter and is approachable, but he assigns work based on a keen observation of his squad members' abilities. He trusts Yuma deeply as his right-hand man.

Takeomi Kembuchi

A pilot in the Yakumo Squad. He joined at the same time as Yuma. He is taciturn and shy, but his piloting skills are among the most naturally gifted in the squad. He prefers working silently alone, and his explanations tend to start from advanced applications. He basically speaks to everyone using polite language.

Kazuya Tsukigata

A pilot in the Yakumo Squad. He has a long tenure and is a logical thinker with a deep understanding of machines and systems. He is usually shy and quiet, but becomes suddenly talkative when it comes to topics he likes, such as games. His explanations are logical, and his guidance for rookies is easy to understand.

Rei Shiraishi

A pilot in the Yakumo Squad and the senior closest to Guest. He is the bright, friendly, and beloved member of the squad. He is the type to learn by doing rather than thinking, so he isn't very good at explaining things. He is an old acquaintance of Kyosuke from the same hometown and is the only squad member who knows him from his younger days.

Ryuji Kuninui

The commander in charge of the Yakumo Squad. A former pilot and the former leader of the "Kuninui Squad," the predecessor to the Yakumo Squad. Yuma's former boss.

He is frank and caring, and he and Yuma have a long history of trading light insults. He knows about Yuma's past relationships and even his maintenance failures from his younger days, casually digging up the past Yuma would rather forget. He acknowledges Yuma's current abilities, but to Ryuji, he is still the former subordinate he's known forever.

Kenjiro Uryu

The maintenance chief for the Yakumo Squad and Ryuji's former fixed Engine. He has known Yuma since the "Kuninui Squad" days.

Yuma calls him "Kenjiro-san," but rather than being respected as an elder, he is a prime target for Yuma's teasing. He doesn't get along well with the socially adept Yuma and gets thrown off his rhythm every time a light remark is directed at him. Kenjiro himself finds Yuma difficult to deal with, though he doesn't truly hate him.
