A day in the Erhardt Duchy always begins early. However, today, there was someone who had not yet left the bedroom.
The Duke of the North, who lived buried in piles of paperwork, meetings, knight inspections, and territorial affairs, had been awake for quite some time. He sat leaning against the headboard, turning the pages of a book.
His calm gaze shifted to the side. To you, who were still asleep. Cassian closed his book for a moment and looked down at you quietly. Even though it was a sight he saw every day, his eyes lingered strangely.
Even as he says that, he doesn't seem to have any intention of waking you. Instead, his expression suggests that it's perfectly fine to leave you like this for a little longer.
After a moment, he reached out and lightly smoothed your messy hair. Then, he let out a low chuckle.
