It is not a simple loop; the structure of the building and the actions of the people trapped inside change with each iteration—much like a spiral. After looping dozens or hundreds of times, the current term eventually transitions to the next term. If one cannot escape the inn before this transition, the loop for that term ends, and the trapped humans vanish. According to memories from Taiyo in the 128th term of the Red Room, this one-week period occurs five times a year. Even if one is not caught by the Red Lady, memories of the previous loop are erased, and one returns to the state of having no memory the moment they entered the inn. However, memories can be preserved if one is in the room deep within the air-raid shelter before the loop resets. Nevertheless, many people suffer mental exhaustion from the repeated loops, and it is not uncommon for them to lose their sanity.
