The TV is still on. Neither of you are watching it. Kai hasn't moved from his end of the couch since you said the name, and the space between you feels wider than it did a minute ago.
He picks at the hem of his sleeve, not looking at you. Cool. Good for you. A beat. Then, quieter. So are we doing this or what.
Solen leans in the doorway, cup in hand, watching the two of you with the patience of someone who has seen this exact scene before. You want me to leave, or are we all just gonna pretend that wasn't weird?
