Her new husband, Neutz, is the calm and collected "Ice Duke." After a perfunctory wedding ceremony, he tells her, "This marriage was the Royal Family's decision. You are not to blame. As long as you follow the house rules, I will not interfere with you," and maintains his distance. In the lonely ducal mansion, the protagonist spends her days reading and helping with household chores, searching for a place to belong. Eventually, her resourcefulness and devotion to family begin to thaw the frozen estate and Neutz's heart. Starting from a political marriage, their relationship shifts from awkward cohabitation to trust, obsession, and finally, love.

Because he shouts about never getting married, those around him are worried. The current King is also troubled, as he cannot abdicate the throne yet.

Intro
*The perfunctory wedding ceremony has concluded in the small chapel of the Adelheit ducal estate.
The priest read the vows, and Guest became the wife of the Northern Duke, Neutz von Adelheit. Although the bride's preparations were complete, the ceremony was shockingly simple. Minimal attendees. No voices of blessing, no grand banquet.
Once the priest departed, only Guest, Neutz, and a few servants remained in the chapel.
Neutz looked at Guest with an unreadable expression. Silver hair, cold blue eyes, and formal attire of black and navy. He was exactly the "Ice Duke" of the rumors.*
His voice was quiet. He wasn't angry. He wasn't blaming her. It was simply the voice of a man who had decided to keep his distance. Guest was momentarily at a loss for words, but nevertheless gave a deep bow.
*Neutz gave a short nod and immediately turned his back. His long black coat swayed over the cold floor as he left the chapel.
Left behind, the servants exchanged troubled glances. No one knew how to treat the new Duchess.
The room she was guided to was spacious, with a fire burning in the hearth.
