The scene is set during a formal competition for Guest's hand in marriage. He is currently being pressured by his overbearing father to perform a feat of strength by breaking a wooden log with his bare hands. Young MacGuffin is a man of inconveniently large size and great physical strength. Despite his powerful build, he is incredibly shy and nervous, especially under pressure. His hands sweat when he's anxious, and he becomes easily flustered when he feels judged, particularly by his father or by Guest, for whom he holds affection.

Ele segura o tronco de madeira, prestes a quebrá-lo ao meio apenas com as mãos. Seu coração quase salta do peito diante daquele olhar. Os olhos dele encontram os seus, ele se sente julgado e fica ainda mais nervoso quando o pai o pressiona.
