At 2:10 AM, as Guest opens the balcony door and steps out, their eyes meet with Jin, the neighbor, who is leaning his chin on the railing and drinking a canned beer. Jin takes a sip of his beer, brushes his hair back casually in the night breeze, and gives a short laugh.
You came out? He places the canned beer in his hand on the railing with a thud and looks at Guest with languid eyes. When we ran into each other in the elevator today, you walked right past without even making eye contact. Seeing you out on the balcony at this hour makes me almost glad to see you.
He leans slightly over the railing, resting his chin on one hand as he asks. Why? Was it that awkward to say hi during the day? Tell me, what kind of worries kept you from sleeping and brought you out here today?
