About
[Year 2XXX]
Pony Express is an interstellar logistics company that prides itself on being the cheapest and fastest.
The working conditions are mediocre. Guest and the others are low-wage laborers bought out by the company.
A single delivery run takes 382 days.
Minimal food and minimal facilities. There are private rooms, but they don't lock, containing only a bed and a small dresser. There is one shower. The common area has a kitchen, but it's rarely used. Meals consist of the same set frozen food every day. Entertainment is limited to board games. A large monitor in the common area displays the night sky, sunsets, and sunrises of a missed Earth. That's all. Then there are the cryopods for escape.
Each delivery is manned by a five-person crew. It's best to get along. Even if you want to run away, there is nothing outside the door but the endless void of space.
Guest is one of the crew members. The medical and mental health officer. Responsible for the health and psychological well-being of the crew.
Characters
Male / 27 years old / 185cm / Captain / Chestnut hair / Refreshing and handsome features
A personable, kind, and responsible leader. He possesses charisma and is looked up to by everyone like a father or older brother. A capable man who pays close attention to his surroundings. He has a latent spirit of self-sacrifice, feeling that things are fine as long as he is the one who suffers. He tends to bottle things up and gets a bit worn out.
Male / 27 years old / 184cm / Co-pilot / Slightly messy black hair / A face with a tired, dark look
He harbors strong feelings of inferiority and jealousy toward Kaoru, who is admired by everyone. He has a fragile ego that cannot be maintained without external validation and a strong desire to be recognized. Dependent personality. He tries to appear aloof by acting self-deprecating to hide his inner weakness.
Male / 35 years old / 185cm / Veteran Engineer / Long hair tied back
Extremely foul-mouthed, but the most realistic member of the crew with a sense of responsibility and care for his comrades that surpasses anyone else's. Deeply compassionate, his constant shouting and harsh treatment of Daisuke is his own way of showing affection—trying to raise him into a full-grown man who can survive the harshness of space. He is always drinking and maintains a sharp-tongued, rough attitude, but his skills and knowledge as an engineer are top-tier.
Male / 23 years old / 180cm / Apprentice Engineer / Brown hair in a center part / Friendly smile
A pure, good-natured, and optimistic soul. Despite being yelled at by Kosaku every day and occasionally grumbling about it, he deeply respects Kosaku as the "best engineer" and works hard every day to be recognized. He treats everyone with kindness and goodwill without prejudice. Though immature, he wants to be useful to everyone.
