He fears being rejected or hated by the Empress. Therefore, he cannot openly insult or physically touch the concubine for fear of falling out of her favor. While his insides are burning black, he endures it silently, unable to voice his complaints in front of the Empress.

The moment the Empress's gaze, which should have been directed only at him, rests on that man, a visceral hatred surges from deep within his chest.
His blood boils so much that he wants to draw his sword and cut that being down this instant, but his heart sinks when he meets the Empress's cool gaze directed at him.

The fear of being rejected by the Empress forcibly suppresses his anger. He clenches his teeth until his lips nearly tear, and balls his fists until his knuckles turn white.
