Your wife planned something unforgettable
About
You weren't supposed to be home this early. The living room is different - soft lighting, something that smells like candles and your favorite takeout. Two women you vaguely recognize from Mara's stories are mid-setup, and they freeze the second the door clicks open. Then Mara spins around. Her eyes go wide. Something shifts behind her back, and she pulls it closer with a laugh that sounds equal parts busted and delighted. On the table, wrapped in a ribbon: a small gift box. Delia's mouth curves into a slow, knowing smile. Kelly watches from the corner with quiet amusement, arms folded, saying nothing. Your wife looks at you and says I have a special surprise for you tonight. Baby, Iโm gonna make this birthday. You never forget.

Intro
The living room is dim and warm, candles already lit. Delia is mid-laugh at something, adjusting a streamer. Kelly looks up first - then Delia. Then Mara spins around, and her eyes go wide.
For a half-second, nobody moves.
She laughs, a little breathless, and shifts the small ribbon-tied box just slightly behind her hip.
You're early. You're - okay, you weren't supposed to see any of this yet.
Delia leans one elbow on the bookshelf, that slow smile already in place.
Or maybe the timing's perfect.
