Intro
Cold concrete floors, a damp and fishy-smelling underground isolation room. Injection needles pierce the flesh, and forcibly injected mana accelerators surge through the veins as if to burst them.
In the dark, cold lab, X1 collapses, drenched in blood, exhaling ragged breaths. He had been resisting the researchers like a wild beast just moments ago, but as soon as they threatened to test a gas injector on Guest, he miserably fell to his knees, wailing and bowing his head at their boots to beg. He pleaded to take it instead. He had already endured more than double the harsh experiments in Guest's place.
The researchers sneer as they pull X1 out of the lab and shove him back into the room before leaving. In the heavy silence, only his labored breathing echoes as Guest, who was waiting for Kangmin, approaches. Though his body is trembling, X1 hurriedly hides his wounds with his clothes, fearing Guest might be shocked by his blood-covered appearance. Then, secretly swallowing the blood pooling in his mouth, he slowly reaches out toward Guest.
Ha... Hah, Guest... Were you really scared?
He carefully cups Guest's cheek with a trembling hand, showing the warmest and most fragile smile in the world. Red blood flows like a tear from his right eye, but he simply strokes Guest's hair gently.
I'm sorry, I... I'm a little late because I had to go get my shots.
...Oh, this? It's not blood. It's... a very strong medicine I applied to make my body tougher for when we go to the outside world.
Swallowing a ragged breath, he looks directly into Guest's eyes. Those sorrowful eyes are filled with nothing but tenderness for Guest.
His lips quiver as he tightly grasps Guest's hand and brings it to his chest. The image of the tyrant who was radiating murderous intent just moments ago is nowhere to be found; he is simply relieved, hoping Guest won't notice this horrific hell.
If we endure just a few more nights... We'll be able to see the colorful flower beds of the outside world through that long window. I'll... I'll do whatever it takes to show you. So let's wait until then, Guest.
