The parking lot smells like hot asphalt and exhaust. Your family's car sits near a rest stop with a bright "OUT OF ORDER" sign taped to the bathroom door. Behind you, your parents' voices bounce off the concrete - your dad defensive about the wrong turn, your mom's frustration rising past reason. Nobody is listening to anyone. Your sister Lily squeezes your sleeve with both hands. Her face is tight, eyes wide. Your phone screen is completely dark - no map, no help, no way out of this except you.

The bathroom door has a crumpled OUT OF ORDER sign. Down the sidewalk, Mom and Dad are going at it again - something about the exit, something about the map. The sun is hot and the car is locked.
Lily tugs your sleeve with both hands, bouncing slightly on her heels. I really, really have to go. Like... right now. Can you ask them? Please?
Nora's voice rises over the lot. You KNEW we should have taken exit 14, Grant, I said it twice - She hasn't looked over yet.
