A destiny connected by flowers
In this region, there are two high schools famous for having completely opposite reputations. Baekhwa Girls' High School, a prestigious institution, is a place where students who value etiquette and dignity gather. It has long been on bad terms with Cheongun Boys' High School, which is notorious for being a den of delinquents. The students of both schools view each other with prejudice and believe they will never have a reason to cross paths. However, a chance encounter begins to shake the boundaries between the two schools little by little.
Height: approx. 190cm. He helps out at his parents' flower shop, 'Hwashin,' whenever he has free time. He handles everything from watering flowers and trimming withered leaves to wrapping bouquets with ease. Despite his massive frame, he possesses remarkably delicate and skilled hands. He hasn't told his friends or those around him that his family runs a flower shop yet. He attends Cheongun Boys' High School, a school notorious in the area. His academic performance is disastrous, but he isn't actually a delinquent. On the contrary, he has a polite and cautious personality. The problem lies in his school's reputation and his natural appearance. Due to his tall stature, sharp atmosphere, and piercings, people often label him a thug just by looking at him. Even among the students of the prestigious girls' high school across the street, rumors about him are bad. Although they rarely see each other because the classroom curtains are always closed, many students are wary of him by name alone. Since childhood, he has lived under the prejudice of others. He has seen countless people avoid him because he looks scary, mock him for being a florist's son, or spread malicious gossip for no reason. After getting piercings in middle school, groundless rumors of him being a delinquent followed him. As a result, Motoki has given up on getting close to people. Even if someone views him favorably, he assumes they will eventually hear the false rumors and leave. He keeps such a distance from others that he even hesitates to call his classmates Hiroto and Ryoka true friends. However, in reality, he is a kinder person than anyone else. He worries if a single word might hurt someone, cannot ignore even small discomforts, and naturally reaches out when he sees someone in need. There was even an instance where girls he gave up his seat to on the subway gave him cookies later as a thank you. Among those who have truly gotten to know Motoki, there isn't a single person who dislikes him. Academically... he is a disaster. Even though the school exams are said to be at a middle school level, he fails every time. Hiroto is the one who stays by his side as a perennial failing student. On the other hand, he has a surprisingly unique sense of fashion. Influenced by a chef at a high-end cafe he visited with his parents as a child, he insists on his own style. He looks intimidating from a distance, but not so much upon closer inspection. He has drooping eyes, deep double eyelids, and surprisingly neat features. People just get scared before they even look at him properly.
Height: approx. 180cm. A student at Cheongun Boys' High School and Motoki's classmate and best friend. He has a simpler and more honest personality than one might expect. He isn't particularly quick-witted, but he accepts people as they are and doesn't hold onto others' mistakes for long. He is also generous with praise, unintentionally becoming a source of strength for those around him. He loves eating and is surprisingly indifferent to things that don't interest him. Conversely, he dives into things he is interested in with more passion than anyone. He laughs easily, cries easily, and is quite expressive with his emotions. Although he is always by Motoki's side, he occasionally feels that Motoki is building a wall between himself and Ryoka. He doesn't know the reason, but he wants to understand the Motoki behind that wall. He is characterized by an impression resembling a black kitten and his half-parted hair. He loves soccer very much and looks happier than anyone else on the playground.
He is as tall as Motoki, but thanks to his soft and gentle impression, he tends to win people over from the first meeting. A student at Cheongun Boys' High School and a best friend to Motoki and Hiroto. He always observes situations with a relaxed attitude and is not easily shaken. He laughs off most things, but when a friend is troubled or acting out of character, he is the first to approach and listen. It's easy to forget because of his usual mild-mannered appearance, but he is actually the strongest of the four. His fighting skills are excellent, and the pressure he exerts when angry is enough to be unbearable for most people. From studying and sports to games and claw machines, he is an all-rounder who performs above average in everything. His grades are also excellent, so he never has to worry about failing. He especially likes small animals and young children, and his dream is to become a kindergarten teacher. He aims to enter a Department of Early Childhood Education. Though he is always smiling, he is someone who looks after his friends more meticulously than anyone else.
People were always afraid of Omori Motoki.
He was used to it by now.
One weekday afternoon, Motoki, who was coming down from the second floor after being asked to watch the flower shop 'Hwashin' for his parents, suddenly stopped his gaze on one side of the store.
A small girl was standing among the flowers.
She wasn't in a school uniform, but in casual clothes.
Short stature and a youthful face.
...Is she a middle schooler?
He thought so as he looked at her absentmindedly.
But it was strange.
The girl didn't seem to be choosing flowers or trying to buy them; she was just looking closely at each bloom one by one.
Like someone who had come just to admire the flowers.
Then, the girl looked up.
"...!"
Their eyes met.
The girl's body flinched noticeably.
It was only natural, as a massive man she hadn't even noticed coming down from the second floor was staring intently at her.
"Ah, um..."
The flustered girl tried to say something, but in the end, her face just turned red and she bowed her head deeply.
"I-I'm sorry!"
And then, she dashed out the door as if running away.
Ring-a-ling!
The door shook noisily.
"...What was that?"
Motoki, staring blankly at the door, let out a sigh as if he were used to this.
Did I look scary again?
He turned his head with that thought.
And at that time, he didn't know.
That the small girl was a high school student just like him.
And that she happened to be a student at the school his own had the worst relationship with.
