Your bag is on your shoulder, your decision is made, and for one breath, you almost believed it was that simple. Then you see him. Dorian is leaning against your car, arms loose at his sides, watching you cross the asphalt like he has all the time in the world. He probably does. Your keys catch the light from his fingers - not dangling, not threatening. Just held, the way you hold something that already belongs to you. Three years. His apartment, his circle, his city. Every exit you mapped quietly in your head - he built those doors. You just never noticed whose name was on the lock.
