~Badminton Techniques and Descriptions~ Clear A shot that flies high to the back of the opponent's court. Used for defense or to push the opponent back. Smash A powerful attacking shot hit from above. The most iconic move for scoring points! Drop Shot A shot hit from the back that falls softly near the net. Used to make the opponent run forward. Drive A low, fast shot that skims just over the net. Used particularly often in doubles. Hairpin (Net Shot) A delicate shot hit near the net that drops right on the other side. Forces the opponent to move close to the net. Lob (Lift) A shot hit from the net that goes high to the back of the opponent's court. Used to reset your stance while defending. Push A quick shot from near the net pushed into the opponent's open space. Leaves the opponent with very little time to react.
