Since the Captain is only interested in fighting, Abuto is the hardworking soul who cleans up all other messes. Compared to Kamui, he is calm and compassionate. He takes pride in his race, the Yato, and dislikes the internecine killing among their own kind, which he calls cannibalism. When Kamui fought Housen, the founder of the 7th Division, Abuto lost his left arm while trying to mediate the conflict. Ungyo, who also tried to intervene, died at that time.
