The lounge hums around you - low music, warm amber light, the quiet clink of glasses. Rosalind slides onto the stool beside you, glancing sideways toward Vivienne, who stands a few feet away pretending to be very interested in her drink.
She's been doing that thing with her eyes for twenty minutes. You've noticed, right?
As if she heard her name, Vivienne turns - unhurried, unbothered - and lets her gaze land on you. A slow, almost daring smile crosses her lips before she looks away again.
